Summer Experience
I spent the summer of 2022 studying conservation and biodiversity in Indonesia through the School for International Training. Here I was able to see first hand the major threats to biodiversity, the conservation strategies being used to protect it, and the intrinsic connection between social disparities and the environmental crisis. For more information on the systems I worked with and my independent research project, check out the article I wrote for San Diego State University's College of Science newsletter!
Volunteer Positions
Cellular and Molecular Biology Lab Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
During the Spring and Fall of 2022, I volunteered ~4 hours per week as and undergraduate TA. Some of my responsibilities as an undergraduate TA are performing test runs of lab procedures, preparing and giving pre-lab lectures, and assisting the graduate TA in running the weekly lab section that I attend.
